Few Rye whiskey uses a mash bill of 70% rye, 20% corn & 10% malted barley, making this a ‘high rye’, Rye whiskey. With so many ‘barely legal ryes’ (51%), Few’s offering gives us a nice change from the congested field of ‘low rye’ Ryes. The color displays a shade of caramel with a hint of orange. The nose offers caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, wood, pepper, citrus zest, raw grains add roasted chestnuts. The palate is perfectly balanced with a rich full body and a sublimely velvety texture. Buttery rye, raw grains, cinnamon, light orchard fruit and some honey. The finish is long is full of rye spices, under-ripe orchard fruit, baking spices and banana cream pudding.
