Description
Springbank was established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still. The distillery is now in the hands of current Chairman, Hedley G. Wright, Mitchell’s great, great grandson – the fifth generation of the Mitchell family to own and manage Springbank. The Springbank team use traditional production methods and are involved in every step of the whisky making process. Springbank 18-year-old scotch is full of authority and is truly a classic, full-bodied dram. The palate is thick and oily, fruity and mellow; gives way to a sweet liquorice and aniseed flavor as it opens up. On the finish the notes are sweet and chocolatey with some coconut, which lingers giving way to a pleasant smokey tingle.
